Dear God...

Please look after my brother as he begins this new step in his life. Be with him and guide him. Please keep your mighty hand on him and guide him along Your path. Keep him safe God.
Thank you

Live...

Well our morning started at about 4:30 a.m.  Garet invited me to go with him to a t.v. station in Athens... he got to be on t.v.
It was early, but worth it =)  Garet has done this before, but it's the first time that I went with him.  It is supposed to be online tonight HERE, so go check out my man in action!

Hot weekend...

We had a really good weekend, although it was HOT!  I'm not complaining - I'd sooo much rather it be hot than cold, but with the temps being around 90 plus humidity - it was really hard to be outside!

On Saturday we went to a friends pool (ahhh relief!), then Garet's work treated all of the district executives and their spouses to dinner at Conners, and a hotel night at the Westin (in Bridgestreet).  It was really nice!  We got to get dressed up and have a fancy meal... then stay at a fancy hotel (well "fancy" to us! - hey we're used to traveling with a dog... "fancy" hotels usually don't accept pets!)

Yesterday we kept nursery at church, which is always entertaining =)  Garet had to work, and I actually got really productive and cleaned the house.  I mean CLEANED!  I even went out and watered the yard!  Being outside was bearable when I had water near me, so Suzi and I hung out outside for awhile.  I will have to take pictures of my hydrangea!  It is sooo pretty!

Hopefully this week will go by fast - Garet and I are getting out of town next weekend!  Woo hoo!

He has a name...

It is really hard to pick a name!  I mean, this is something that this kid is going to have FOREVER, and that's a long time!  Garet and I thought we were going to have a girl... so we had a few girl names picked out.  When we found out it was a boy, we had to start at square one!  Everything that we said, we decided we didn't love.  One name stuck.  Garet started calling him this right away.  I was nervous to make it "the one", but in the end, it's perfect =)  So.... Baby Beane is going to be named:

Colin Davis Beane

It makes it so much more real to call him by name.  Davis is my maiden name.  I really wanted to use it.  Colin was just a name that we really liked.  We love him so much already and can't wait to meet him!

Sad good-bye...

My brother and Kailey left on Monday morning.  A few months ago, I blogged about Eric joining the Marines and starting bootcamp.  Well, the time is almost here.  He leaves at the end of this month to go to bootcamp.
This made it really hard for me to see them leave.  Honestly I have no idea when I am going to see him again.  I know that sounds dramatic, but with Baby Beane due in September, I will be stuck in Huntsville at the end of August when he graduates from bootcamp (13 weeks after he starts).  Then he's off to combat training (for about 10 days).  Then off to California for school (for a few weeks).  Then he is placed wherever they want to put him.
So I hugged him as much as I could =)  I am so thankful that they got to come visit!  I wish it could have been for longer!  Really I just wish I lived closer so I could see him (and my whole family) more!  He is so excited about this - it makes is a lot easier for me to be excited for him.  We spent a lot of time talking about the Marines and what he will have to do.  It makes it better knowing what he is about to go through.  He gave me some websites that I can look at... one of them shows exactly what he will be doing each day he is at bootcamp.  It looks rough to me, and I know I would never be able to hang!  but Eric is going to do great!  I am so proud of him!

He has let his hair grow out so that when he gets there they have something to shave off!  I miss him so much already!

My brother...

My brother (Eric) and his wife (Kailey) came to visit this past weekend!  It was SOO nice to have them here!  Neither of them had ever been to Huntsville so we got to show them around.  On Friday night we took them downtown.  We had a nice walk around and then had dinner.

Saturday morning Eric and I took Suzi for a walk around the neighborhood.  Then I took him and Kailey around just to show them the area.  I had to go to Monte Sano Park and show them where we used to live!
We didn't do any hiking there because 1. it was super hot and humid!  and 2. I don't think I would have been able to hang for too long!
After going around town, we met Garet for lunch (he had to work some), then went home for a bit.

That night we went out to Bridgestreet.  It is so nice out there!  I could just sit and people watch!  There is always stuff going on.  We went to a movie - and sat VIP.  It was really nice.

Sunday we showed them our church. After lunch, Eric and Garet moved some of our furniture.  We are making our guest room the nursery and the office our guest room/office.  The guest bed is a PAIN to move around, so Garet was very thankful for the help!  They moved our desks and dressers - so now the room is beginning to look like a nursery!  Yay!

I mentioned a few weeks ago that we bought a new computer.  Well... we told Eric that he could have our old laptop if he wanted to get it fixed... so the boys decided to take it apart and try to figure out what was wrong with it.
I think they actually figured it out - but they needed more tools.  Eric ended up taking it since my dad has them at home.

And, of course, we had to introduce them to the Wii.  Can you believe they've never played before?!  It is so hilarious watching people on that thing!  Especially when they've never done it before!
We bowled (which by the way - I completely kicked butt in!) and we played the Wii Fit Plus.  I think I had the most fun watching Eric hula hoop!  We were laughing so hard!
I am SO happy they got to come visit!

Last day...

It was so nice having Garet's mom here!  It always flies by when we have visitors!  We got to take her on a lot of nice hikes and walks.  We also got to celebrate Mother's Day with her!  She brought a lot of baby boy clothes and books from some of Garet's sisters!  We probably won't have to buy any baby clothes!  The next time we see her will be after the baby is born!  Wow!

A toy and another visitor...

We got Suzi a toy this weekend... she LOVED it!  Pretty much any new toy she gets is the best thing ever!  This was no different!  We try to find toys that we thing she can't destroy... we'll see how long this one lasts.  I love this picture - she's running towards the ball and you can see her ears flopping :)

If you say "Drop it", she will.  This is her after she's dropped it and Garet is walking towards her.  Her little face is just begging him not to take her toy!

The faceoff!

On Sunday after church, Garet's mom saw a raccoon outside in our backyard!  I was able to grab my camera before he saw us in the window.

He was a pretty good size!  I hate that they hang around though!  Now everytime I let Suzi in the backyard I have to make sure there isn't any wildlife!

I banged on the door to scare him out of our yard and all he did was run to the back fence, and then look at us.  Not scared at all.  I just hope he doesn't come back!

The Stars...

Last Friday, Garet's mom came to visit for the weekend!  It was so great to have her here!

Friday night we decided to go to a Stars baseball game - it was Scout night!  There were soo many scouts there!  It was a perfect night for the game.

We went to dinner before the game, so we missed seeing all the little scouts out on the field, but we still got to see TONS of scouts in the stands!

You can't tell from these pictures :)  but there really were a good amount of people there!

Halfway...

I can't believe it, but I'm halfway through this pregnancy!
We just got finished with the 20 week anatomy scan, and everything looks perfect!  He is still a boy =) everything measured right on schedule!  It was so amazing to see him moving around!  I can't believe so much is going on in me right now.  We got tons of pictures and a dvd that has the whole ultrasound on it.  God is so good!!

I will try to get some of the pictures posted, but we got a new computer last night... so I'll see if I can get it all figured out.

Actions...

I follow The Pioneer Woman's blog - if you don't know who that is, click on the link. She is really funny, has great recipes, and her pictures are AWESOME! Not only that but she lives on a ranch, which I think is really neat!

Anyway, a couple months ago she posted about how to upload actions onto your Photoshop Elements. I was SOO excited to see this post! The problem? I had never upload any actions onto my Photoshop. Well, last night I figured it out!!

Here is the picture I used to "play" with. (of course it's of Suzi!) This is straight from the camera.
There is about 23 or so actions to apply to your pictures. And you can use more than one on the same picture - so there are numerous combinations! I just did a few to see how they'd turn out, and I am loving it! I can't wait to go take more pictures just to play around with them!
(The names of them starting from the top are: Soft Fade, Vintage, Edge Burn, Black & White, Boost, Pioneer Woman's Black & White, Colorized, Sunshine, Heartland, Lovely, and Sepia).

Flowers...

On Friday my boss gave all of the staff flowers! It was Administrative Appreciation Day - so she "appreciated" all [7] of us :) They are really pretty! I just hope I don't kill them!
While I was looking at my flowers I went to the backyard and checked on my hydrangea. Last year they were beautiful! And pink! I was so impressed that they even bloomed! I always forget to water my flowers... but somehow they end up looking good. As Fall and Winter rolled around last year, my poor hydrangea started looking reeeeally bad. I thought for sure I had killed them for good! But this year they started turning green again! And now look:
There are buds all over!! I am so excited! I can't wait for them to pop open!
We are having threats for bad weather again this weekend. Right now Garet is out in one of his districts (for work) doing tornado clean-up from last weekend's tornado. I really hope another one doesn't hit.
In the meantime, I am baking cookies and Suzi is watching the weather.
