10 months...

I am keeping track of all the updates on Addison at the top of the blog... it is an easy way for me to click and look back on what was going on.

Addison is getting such a personality!!
She is feisty too =)  When I take something away from her, boy does she let me know she isn't happy about it!  Or when Colin goes to give her a hug (a big, hard squeeze) she looks at me (with terror) and lets out some cries.  Then when he lets go, she smiles.  What a turkey.

Addison is...
cruising around everything.
walking while pushing toys or chairs.
still clueless about what a schedule is... sometimes she will nap in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes (but rarely) both.
sleeping from around 7 to 7, still waking up once.
talking all the time.
dancing!  The girl loves to dance around... she will flap her arms like crazy when there is music!
eating more and more table food.  I think she prefers it, but there is only so much she can have right now.
loving being on beds with pillows.  She will flop around and laugh.  It is hilarious!
pulling up on the windows now.
attached to her blanket.  The one Colin got her when she was born.  I love it!
wearing 12 month clothes.
loving being outside!
enjoying her bath time... she likes to splash

Oh.my.goodness. I love this little lady!
She is so funny!  What a personality she has!  She is such a flirt!  She will stare at someone, then bring out her big smile and squint her nose up.  It gets them every time =)
Colin loves her so much.  When she cries he will run and either get her a toy or an ice teether.  Addison loves him too, but sometimes he will give her a big hug and she doesn't seem to appreciate that quite so much.
As you can see in the picture above she has 4 teeth with 2 more starting to poke through.
She is so much fun and I am just trying to prepare myself for her to walk... I feel like it will be soon!

Colin-isms...

(I have started keeping these all together on a page at the top of this blog. It makes it easier for me to click back and see what Colin was up to. These are mainly so I don't forget any of these precious moments...)

At lunch Colin and I were eating peanut butter crackers...
Colin "I want to give you a BIG hug mommy.
  "Here I come"
Gives me a BIG hug
Me "Thank you!  I loved that!"
Colin "Now I'm going to give you a BIG kiss.... here I come"
Kisses my cheek.  With his peanut butter mouth.
Colin "Mommy your face is soooo dirty!"
The peanut butter kiss =)

I made a cake for Valentine's day, but it stuck to the bottom of the pan (darn it!) so I made cake balls instead... Colin walked in while I was trying to get the cake out of the pan-
Colin: What are you doing Mommy?
Me: I messed up the cake so I'm doing something different.
Colin:  It's okay Mommy.  Everyone makes mistakes.  Even me!
And even daddy.....  and Addison.... and Suzi.  It's okay Mom.

He went through about a 3 week phase of not playing with cars (shocking, I know!)  Now when we are driving around he looks for car line ups (the cars sitting at red lights) and then when we get home he replicates those line ups with his cars.

Colin is so smart.  Too smart.  He has started to "potty talk".  The other day he stuck his little bottom on my leg and said, "toot!  toot!"  Garet and I both said, "We don't talk like that, Colin."  And Colin said, "What??  I was just being a boat.   Toot.  Toot."  Smarty.

Garet gave Colin a big hug and kiss one morning and Colin said, "Your breath smells foggy."

Randomly in his playroom Colin said, "I want to leave my train out alllll day!  Because I love it!  I love it so much I want to put it in my mouth!"

He wanted a picture with his shoe...

Don't know why, but sometimes I just blurt things out without thinking.  So... on a random walk, Colin asked what was down the sewer drain.  So I told him "ninja turtles"  I mean, I'm right, right?  Anyway... that led to a million questions, and ended with him basically thinking there are turtles down there.

On the same note, Colin was telling me how a ball almost fell down the sewer.  And a turtle almost got it.  Then he said.  "I'm a genius."  "Sometimes I think I am a little bit of a genius."  HA!

One morning before he was supposed to get up he was semi crying.  Garet went in and asked what was wrong and Colin said, "I want a cell phone."

Love this crazy kid.

Our February...

I figured I would just do a huge post summing up the parts of our month I didn't blog about yet...

We went to a 3rd birthday party, it was at this place that has lots of outdoor play equipment inside.  Addison got to swing for the first time...

she loved it!
Colin climbing...

It was a lot of fun!

Here is Colin jumping with a couple friends...

Garet and Colin were out one day and stopped to watch these dirt trucks...

They also went to a park where they (safely) played on the train tracks...

One (freezing, cold) morning, I took the kids to see Garet at work.  We got to have donuts...

I peeked in at the kids one day and saw them all playing together =)

Addison learning yoga...

Did I mention that my cousin is pregnant?!  We are all sooo excited!  She had a gender reveal party...

Oh, and she's pregnant with triplets!

Oh, and they are all girls!

Oh, and they are identical!
Whoop whoop!

Here is Colin at Hobby Lobby.

He's reading.
On one of our random warm days... I was telling him "You're doing it wrong!"  and it got a big smile!

Playing hopscotch...

Addison during nap time...

We went to Winston Salem's Children's Museum...

Colin LOVED the elevator (go figure)

There was this "bean stalk" that the kids could climb from the first floor to the second floor.  Colin is fearless when it comes to climbing!

Fishing...

Addison watching real fish...

Oh, what do ya know?!  Trains!

And then we cuddled on the couch before bed that night =)

Whew.  And now we have big plans for March!  Can't wait =)

Snow days...

Last week we had snow.  Lots of snow.
I am definitely NOT a cold weather girl.  I like the first day of Fall... oh the crisp cool air.  But after that, I want the warm weather.  It makes it a little bit better that I now have kids, and Colin was SUPER excited about the snow!  When it started coming down last week it only took about an hour and everything was covered!  I will admit, I was excited to go outside and play with Colin when he got up from his quiet time.

I couldn't believe how much and how fast it was coming down!  Colin loved it!

AND Suzi really loved it!  She turned into a puppy again!  She was flying around the yard with this poor beat up ball!  =)

Colin even tried to make a snow angel!  It was precious.  haha

The snow was so fluffy... it was like powder, so it wouldn't stick together for a snowman.

*side note - Colin likes to play Hide and Seek.  When he "hides" he will either run out before I am even done counting, or I will say "Ready or not, here I come!.... Where are you Colin?"  and he will answer, "Right here behind the door!"  or something like that =)  We came in from the snow and played, and he found a new hiding spot!  See if you can find him...

I didn't take Addison out that first day... it was just too cold and the snow was coming down so big.  The next afternoon it had finally stopped.  So I bundled her up, and out we went.

(She was in a 2T snow suit!  haha!  That's why you can't see her feet)
She loved it.  But she couldn't move.  So, she didn't last too long.  We did all walk around the house to explore everything!

When we got back to the backyard, we did try to make a snowman.  The snow was mixed with ice, so it was a little difficult.

I ended up with a baby snowman, which Colin was patting on the head in this picture...

... and G was pretended to throw a snowball!

I went in with Addison and watched the boys from the window.  Garet made the snowman bigger and as soon as I got the camera out to take a picture Colin jumped on top.  I captured it:

We still have a bit of snow on the ground... but it is supposed to be in the 70's here this week!  Woohoo!  So hopefully it will all melt!  Until then, Colin has had a blast putting on his boots and going puddle stomping in the yard...

Nine month baby girl...

I am keeping track of all the updates on Addison at the top of the blog... it is an easy way for me to click and look back on what was going on.

Addison is:
Cruising along furniture.
"talking" all the time!
Usually taking 2 naps a day and sleeping around 11/12 hours at night
Eating 3 baby food meals a day, but has started eating "real" food (bananas, peas, crackers, green beans...)
17 lbs (30%) and 26.75" (17%)
wearing 9 - 12 month clothes and size 2/3 shoe (tiny feet!) (oh, and she doesn't really "wear" shoes, more like sees how fast she can kick them off!)
waving
clapping
giving high fives (or low fives...)

She loves Suzi!
And Colin loves her!!  So.so.so.much!  I will pick him up from school and he will go directly to Addison for a hug first.  When he wakes up in the morning and comes down stairs, Addison gets the first hug and kiss... and then me =)  He talks to her high pitched "What do you want to do Addison?  Want a book?"  He has started trying to pick her up.  I decided to not try to fight it... instead I taught him how to pick her up (under her arms, NOT by her neck... sheesh)  I still keep my eye on those two!  He wants to help feed her.  He asks about her when she isn't around (like when she's napping).  It is so amazingly precious!!  I just wish I could bottle up these sweet moments forever!

January...

Our January has been fun, and busy!  Here are some pictures from the month...
I tried to get a picture of all 3 kids =)  This is what I got:

Poor Addison... she got a BIG lick!
Garet's sister Karen and her son Sam came by.  Colin loves hanging out with Sam, although not quite sure what C is doing in this picture...

Colin really likes playing outside.  He has started to play with Suzi too.  I love that we have so many windows looking into our backyard.  It is great to send those two outside and be able to watch from the warmth inside!

It was so cold and rainy earlier this month, so we had to find inside things to keep us busy.  This day we painted.  Colin had a brush, but somehow got it all over his hands... so we made lots of handprints instead =)

When Colin gets up from his "quiet time" (he really doesn't take naps anymore, but he still goes to his room during that time), he gets a snack.  Addison has started climbing up on the back of his desk to see what's going on!

Colin went to the dentist for the first time and was so so great!

When my mom and Ann were here we went shopping.  Addison got some shades.

We got a little bit of snow  a week ago.  Colin had a blast playing in it (it was actually more like ice at this point)

He really wanted to make a snow angel.  Poor kid.  Maybe this afternoon we will get snow and he will REALLY be able to make one!

I took Colin to school and Addison and Suzi were watching me leave

My mom took this picture while I was gone.  Addison and Suzi seem to be having a picnic!

Before G and I went out on our date, we wanted to take a picture.  The kids were there, so we turned it into a family shot... including our messy floor =)

Colin having fun with Ann

And my mom with Addison

I just love this picture of Colin!

G and I took the kids to Monkey Joes since it was so so cold outside.  Colin LOVES going here!  He had so much fun!  Here he is climbing up:

and here he is falling down.  Parenting fail.

Don't worry.  He was fine.  Jumped up and kept right on going.
He even got to give a five to the Monkey.

Here I am with Addison, just to prove we were there too =)

And they are calling for snow the next couple of hours here.  I am sure I will have lots more pictures if we actually get it!
