I really don't have too much to say... I just didn't want my top post to include the picture with my lovely vacuuming attire :)
I was talking to my mom earlier this morning and realized that Garet and I are pretty busy from now until the end of the year! We have visitors, trips, work, and of course, baby Beane, then the holidays, so our calender is filling up fast! It really isn't good to list everything out (like I did to my mom this morning) because now I feel like I have way too much to do and no time to do it! And it's only May!
Tonight I have bunco with a group of girls from church! I am really excited, we always have so much fun! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

The weekend...
Why does it seem like the weekends always go by a lot faster than the weeks??
The weather people were calling for horrible rains/tornadoes/hail on Saturday, so we didn't make big plans..... and we didn't get anything but rain (at least not here there were places around here that did get hit pretty bad). We took two different couples from church dinners. Both had just had baby boys - I think it was an eye-opener to Garet just how small babies are when they are born! He kept saying, Wow we're going to have one of these! :)
We also got some cleaning done. Garet got a kick out of sitting on the couch while I vacuumed and holding his feet up so I could vacuum under them. (Please don't look at my outfit :( I didn't know I was getting my picture taken and I put on my comfy pants haha)
I also let my hair go all natural... no one ever believes me when I say my hair is naturally wavy, so I decided to take a picture. I wish I knew how to style it so I could just let it go. It always seems to get frizzy, or maybe I'm just used to it being stick straight and get nervous that it looks wild and crazy!

The crib...
Here it is...
Garet and I started looking at cribs a few weekends ago. I knew from the beginning I wanted white... no matter boy or girl, I wanted white. I kind of have in my head what I've wanted the nursery to look like from the start. (We'll see if the image in my head is really what I end up making it look like!)
So after pricing and comparing we picked the one above! I am so excited! Now I just have to be patient until it comes! :)

Productive...
This past weekend Garet and I were very productive! I got motivated to clean out our office. We decided a few weeks ago that we were going to repaint a couple of the dressers that we already had and put them in the nursery. I honestly wasn't expecting to get this project started this weekend, and even more I definitely wasn't expecting to finish the project! But we did!! (By the way, I use the term "we" loosely... I obviously couldn't help that much, so my wonderful husband gets the credit for this!)
Here is one of the dressers before... I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the other one (Garet was too fast!) I also had already started taking off the lovely gold handles, so that's why they are only on the top drawer.
Here is a close up. Please excuse the printer on top :)
Garet had to sand the dressers and drawers, then prime them.
After he primed and painted two coats of paint, I actually did some work! I figured out where the new knobs were going to go. Hey - it was a tough job. I had to measure and make sure everything was lined up perfectly! So after my job, G drilled the holes and put the knobs in.
And viola! Finished! Here is our new changing table/dresser! I can't wait to get everything all put together!!
Monday night everything was all ready to be moved back inside! Here he is!

17 weeks...
I am 17 weeks today!! Here is a belly pic:
I am definitely starting to "pop" :) We had our appointment this morning and everything was great! The heartrate was 150 bpm. She asked if we had any idea what we were having... I don't! I said girl, because there are mostly girls in our families (G has 4 sisters and 8 nieces!)

Weekend...
We had such a good weekend! On Saturday I managed to clean out some of our office - we still have a ways to go on that! Then we went shopping. We had gone to look at some cribs last weekend, but I really wanted to finalize what we want. I have mentioned before that I am NOT a shopper... and even though this kind of shopping is MUCH more fun, I still want to make a decision and not look forever :)
So... between both of the weekends, we looked at Babies R Us, Huffmans Furniture, and All About Baby. I knew what I wanted - I just had to find it. I am pretty sure we have decided! We are going to use a couple dressers that we already have... we just have to paint them. So, I ordered a couple paint samples of the crib to make sure we can match one of them. Hopefully we'll be able to order next weekend. I'll post a picture when we have it ordered.
I also got the book Baby Bargains. It was recommended to me by a few different people. I am so glad I go it! It gives me something to go off of - because I really have no clue what I need to look for, especially when it comes to a mattress for example...
Anyway, I am getting really excited about getting things in order! Garet and I figured we should take advantage of 2nd trimester (now that I have my energy back!) and get stuff done! 3 1/2 more weeks and we'll find out if Baby Beane is a boy or a girl!
Yesterday in church Garet and I had nursery...
we have done nursery many times before, but it has always been in a room with a lead person, and we are looking after the crawlers/starting to walk. This Sunday we were in a room, just the two of us, with about 10 or so 2 1/2 year olds. I think we were both a little intimidated! I have to say it went really well though. We had to do a lesson, which the kids did wonderful, a craft and then play. I honestly felt very accomplished by the time all the kids were picked up. :)
Later I met up with a friend (who is due the week after me) and we went for a walk downtown. The weather was WONDERFUL!! It was perfect to be outside! I am sooo glad it is warm again!
I will have to get out with my camera and take some more pictures! I have gotten slack lately!

New nook...
Suzi likes to sleep in tight spaces... I don't know if it makes her feel more secure or what. The other night I asked Garet where she was. Usually she is somewhere within sight, or she's in our bedroom next to the bed. Garet searched the house and found her sleeping in our office.
It was so cute! Now that is HER spot! Every night she disappears. When we call her she comes running out of the office. Too funny!

How sweet...
Garet got Good Friday off from work, I, however, did not.
So while I was at work, Garet was busy around the house. When I called him and said I was on my way home, he said he wanted to have something finished by the time I got there...
He planted some flowers at our mailbox! How sweet! And he mulched all of our flower beds! The yard looked so good! (Except we just need our grass to come back to life!)
I am loving this weather! It has been in the 80's, and now with your new flowers it is really starting to (finally) feel like Spring!
