January...

Our January has been fun, and busy!  Here are some pictures from the month...
I tried to get a picture of all 3 kids =)  This is what I got:

Poor Addison... she got a BIG lick!
Garet's sister Karen and her son Sam came by.  Colin loves hanging out with Sam, although not quite sure what C is doing in this picture...

Colin really likes playing outside.  He has started to play with Suzi too.  I love that we have so many windows looking into our backyard.  It is great to send those two outside and be able to watch from the warmth inside!

It was so cold and rainy earlier this month, so we had to find inside things to keep us busy.  This day we painted.  Colin had a brush, but somehow got it all over his hands... so we made lots of handprints instead =)

When Colin gets up from his "quiet time" (he really doesn't take naps anymore, but he still goes to his room during that time), he gets a snack.  Addison has started climbing up on the back of his desk to see what's going on!

Colin went to the dentist for the first time and was so so great!

When my mom and Ann were here we went shopping.  Addison got some shades.

We got a little bit of snow  a week ago.  Colin had a blast playing in it (it was actually more like ice at this point)

He really wanted to make a snow angel.  Poor kid.  Maybe this afternoon we will get snow and he will REALLY be able to make one!

I took Colin to school and Addison and Suzi were watching me leave

My mom took this picture while I was gone.  Addison and Suzi seem to be having a picnic!

Before G and I went out on our date, we wanted to take a picture.  The kids were there, so we turned it into a family shot... including our messy floor =)

Colin having fun with Ann

And my mom with Addison

I just love this picture of Colin!

G and I took the kids to Monkey Joes since it was so so cold outside.  Colin LOVES going here!  He had so much fun!  Here he is climbing up:

and here he is falling down.  Parenting fail.

Don't worry.  He was fine.  Jumped up and kept right on going.
He even got to give a five to the Monkey.

Here I am with Addison, just to prove we were there too =)

And they are calling for snow the next couple of hours here.  I am sure I will have lots more pictures if we actually get it!

Colin-isms...

(I have started keeping these all together on a page at the top of this blog. It makes it easier for me to click back and see what Colin was up to. These are mainly so I don't forget any of these precious moments...)

It has been awhile since I've done this... honestly almost everything that comes out of Colin's mouth I want to write down or record and have forever!  He is such a funny kid!  And he is growing up so much, so fast!  He gets so serious when he talks to us sometimes - I love him so much!
These pictures are just random ones that I have taken over the month...
Probably the last time he took out all his cars at once.

Colin's favorite (this was told to me by him):
 Food - Pizza
 Drink - Milk and water
 Dessert - Cupcakes
Thing to do - play trains
 Animal - Lizard
What does he want to be when he grows up?  A fireman
Splashing in the mud.  Can you see the splash?!

I was exercising and Colin asked me, "What kind of exercising is that??"  I said, "burpees" and he said, "Burpees??  That stinks!"  Guess it does sound like "burp"

"Addison, you have the biggest tummy I've ever seen!"
Poor sweet girl =)

A few weeks ago I wasn't feeling too good after dinner.  I went upstairs to my room and a few minutes later, I heard Colin coming up.  He pushed me by the leg and told me to get into bed.  Then he moved my phone to the dresser... tried to pull up the covers over me.  He told me to cut off the light, then he kissed my hand and went to leave.  Before he closed the door behind him he said, "feel better mommy.  Sleep good.  I love you."  sweet boy.

At dinner one night, Colin was dragging his fork on the table.  Garet told him to stop.
The next night, Garet wasn't home for dinner, but I dropped something on the table... Colin said, "Be careful Mommy.  Daddy loves this table soooooooooo much!"
Racing his cars down the ramp.

Garet and Colin were hanging out:
Colin "I am pooping"
Garet "We don't talk like that bud."
Colin "No, Daddy... it means that you are tired."
...... I am pooped.... =)

He has started randomly saying, "I have a question..."  or "I have to tell you a story"  or "What should we do today?"
Playing in the yard with Suzi.

We say our prayers before bed every night... the other night when I was putting Colin to bed and we started saying prayers, he said "I said prayers at my nap time today"  Love that!

This kid has my heart!  He has some times where he really knows how to push my buttons, but we are figuring out how to work through that.  Colin is very sensitive and loving.  He is so good with Addison!  If he hears her crying and he is in another room, he will run to her yelling, "Super Colin to the rescue!" =)  If I have to do something he will tell me, "Leave Addison here with me, I will take care of her".  I do watch them carefully though because he has started trying to pick her up and move her, and sometimes it will knock her off balance and she will fall.  I keep telling Colin to stop growing up... to which he replies, "I AM growing up Mom!"  And he is.  I am so proud of him!

8 months...

I am keeping track of all the updates on Addison at the top of the blog... it is an easy way for me to click and look back on what was going on.

My baby girl is 8 months old!

She is such a good baby!  I can't believe how fast time is flying!

Here are some things she is up to these days...
- She loves to stand! She won't move her feet, but she loves to be standing up!
- Has 2 bottom teeth, and she may be working on the top ones as we speak...

- Sleeps between 6-11 hours at night.  Takes 2 naps (most days)
- Wears 9 month clothes

- Started waving
- Jams to music!  Whenever there is music playing, or even if someone is singing, she starts waving her arms and kicking her feet.

- Is great at eating baby food... but when I put a Puff, or Cherrio, in her mouth she makes an awful face and spits it out.  Or acts like she is gagging.
- Likes to play with cups.  She hasn't gotten the concept of actually drinking from the straw yet.

- Scoots around on her tummy... and just started going forward crawling, but mostly it is just backwards.
- Has gotten WAY better about riding in the car (knock on wood!)
She was done =)

It is so funny how different she is than Colin... and how different I am!  It took me awhile, but I am now comfortable with the fact that she isn't on a solid schedule.  With C we HAD to be at home at 9 and 2 for his nap time.  With Addison, if we have somewhere to go, she sleeps on the road... or doesn't sleep.  Yesterday she didn't take her afternoon nap... so she stayed up with me while C napped.  Usually she will fall asleep around 4/5 when I feed her, but she didn't yesterday.  So.... at dinner this happened:

Don't get me wrong... there IS still a schedule, I just feel more flexible with it than I did with Colin.

This sweet girl is such a blessing!  Colin is still so in love with her... I am so thankful for that!  Garet and I just soak up our little family!  Love this angel!

Random...

I have started taking pictures of random things, just so I don't forget...  It is the little things that I don't think to write down that I love and want to remember.

The dinosaur crashing the nativity scene:

Colin helps feed Suzi.  He always fills the food to the point of overflowing.

Our morning... this was actually one of our laid back mornings.  But, every morning I get Colin dressed and teeth and hair brushed, then I let him and Addison play either in his room or mine while I get dressed and teeth brushed... then I get Addison dressed, then we are back downstairs.  This is the latest thing they like to play with... these memory blocks.

Suzi trying soooooo hard to kiss Addison.

 Walks to the lake:

Snack time.  Colin gets to watch tv while he eats his snack.

What Does the Fox say.  This song.  Wow.  It gets stuck in your head!  Then Colin got this shirt (thanks mom!) and every time I see it I think of the song.  Actually, Colin gets it stuck in his head too!  This is him singing it =)

Funny faces.  Colin is so so funny!

Cars galore!

Suzi gets as close as possible.  And Addison is just as interested in her!  Addison sticks out her tongue all the time!  See it?

Playing in the mud.  Can you see the big splash?!  He was a MESS!

Watching movies on cold and/or rainy days.  Colin is finally at an age where he can sit and actually enjoy a movie.  It is fun to make it special with popcorn or "hot tea" (this was Colin's request!)  =)

Sleeping angels.  They grow up so fast.  I love soaking up moments like this!

Christmas in Charlotte...

The day after Christmas, my brother and his family came over to my parents and we all exchanged gifts!

We had so much fun!  It is always nice to hang out with family!

Here is Addison with baby Jesus...

One thing that Garet and I got from my parents was this awesome St. John print.  In the picture there are hidden words... meaningful to us.  Like: SunDog (where we worked when we lived there), our names, some of the beaches and restaurants... it is AWESOME!  This is Kailey and I searching for the hidden words:

I made a book for Morgan (and family) of our trip to Disney.  Isn't this precious?!

Colin got a remote control Mater!

Eric and Garet were going head to head in the championship of their fantasy football...

Intense.
Then we all loaded up and headed to my aunts house!

My family always gets together for the holidays... all of us!  We tried to get a group picture, but we are missing a few...

Colin loves being at Grandmama and Papaw's house!  They have a fun yard... the side yard is a bunch of trees, aka the "woods" and he loves to walk around in there, with a wagon of course.  I love this picture... it looks like they are really playing football =)

We got to have dinner with my best friend Marsha one night!  Love this girl!

 And here are the guys...

We also went to this huge indoor playground!  It was awesome!  Colin went crazy!  He actually went alllllll the way to the top and slide down that slide too!

It was a lot of fun!
That afternoon Eric, Kailey and Morgan came back over to have dinner with my Uncle and Patsy.  Here is Colin and Morgan with Mater...

My family =)

Addison sporting a new bow...

Here is my brother with his sweet family:

It was so so so much fun!
I think this picture is out of order, but I don't feel like fixing it =)  So here is Addison playing with my mom:

We had a great Christmas!
Although I was super excited to get back home and undecorated (I don't like things out of order!!) and get organized with all our new stuff!
