Wow, Colin and I had a super fun day! I am going to warn you... there are TONS of pictures!
Garet is at his sisters house this weekend, so I wanted to do something fun with Colin today. We decided to head to
The Children's Museum. Our day actually started rough... Colin slammed my finger in the door. I mean SLAMMED!! I was in tears! And he was at my leg saying, "Mommy... okay mommy?", "Ice mommy?" So, my fingernail is blue and I feel like I can barely use that hand. Oh, it was bad. Luckily that was not how the rest of our day went!
We got to the museum and Colin quickly found a car to drive around =)
And then he made a friend and they went on an airplane ride...
The way this place is set up is there are lots of different "rooms", like a grocery store, a bookstore, construction zone, house, theater, hospital, dentist, oh so much more. It was so neat! And Colin was soooo excited! He was all over the place! It was awesome!
There was a space that he could climb in all these vehicles... the mail truck...
He got in a fire truck, a police car, a camping tent, a big tractor trailer truck...
a race car...
Oh, and he got to pump gas =)
We found the "construction zone" which had tools and blocks inside. And, of course, "dirt trucks"...
In the middle of the town was a slide... this picture shows in the background some of the different rooms...
The grocery store was a big hit! Colin was adorable! He grabbed a cart and got to it...
He grabbed some eggs and asked me for help to make sure they were laying flat in the cart. Wouldn't want to break any eggs! I said, "Colin do we need anything else from the refrigerator?" and he said, "oh! Milk!"
He even put everything away when we were finished pretending.
Then we ventured into the hospital...
Colin took all the babies blankets off...
Then we found one of the most awesome parts... the train!
He loves trains! He got to hit a button that goes "Choo choo!"
Across the room was a plane... Up one side, and down the other!
There were crafts...
And Santa came to visit. Colin gave him a high five =)
When we got home, we had lunch and it was down for a nap! Afterwards we headed outside, it had stopped raining and was actually really nice out! Leave it to Colin to find a tiny hole of water in the bottom of his basketball goal. That's where he spent most of his time...
Then he played some with the neighbors cat...
On a side note... my husband has a sweet tooth.... he must have a dessert after every meal. I realized that we didn't have anymore desserts, so Colin and I made a chocolate cake!
When it was done, I got a little too excited and took it out of the pan before it was cool enough... so it was a big mess! But we had fun with it =) I cooked it in two round pans, so the first one I flipped out had some cake stuck to the bottom... I let Colin enjoy that while I tried to make the cake look better...
(I told him to look at the camera so I could take a picture of his messy face!) He had chocolate everywhere! Oh, and I didn't have enough chocolate icing, so the middle of the cake was vanilla icing. If you look close at the picture above, you can see a ring of vanilla icing around Colin's face where he tipped up the icing to try and eat it. Colin doesn't get sweets, so I was a little worried that it would keep him up, but I guess our day was too busy! He went right to sleep!
The cake wasn't that pretty, but it sure was good =)
And now, I am exhausted. This baby is rolling all around - guess all the chocolate woke him/her up! Off to bed for me!
